SecureBlue MSHO Supplemental Benefits

Care Coordinators must confirm MSHO enrollment. Members enrolled in MSC+ do not qualify.

Member story from Alliance Music Therapy April 2025: the music therapist shared “I was able to see a member on his 90th birthday this morning, and made sure to remember/sing happy birthday because turning 90 is a big deal, and he doesn’t have many family members. When I asked him if he had any other birthday plans for the day, he stated: ‘No, but talking with you is always very special. Thank you for remembering my birthday, if no one else does, you made it a very special day today Kendall.’ A good reminder that simply being a person each week that these members can interact with matters a lot!”

In Jan 2025, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released an FAQ about supplemental benefits. As explained in the FAQ, HUD requires that supplemental benefits received and used for rent and utilities must be included in the calculation of income performed by a housing provider or public housing agency. Benefits other than used rent and utilities benefits, or unused benefits (unspent flex card amounts) should not be counted in the income calculation. https://www.huduser.gov/portal/publications/FAQ-Medicare-Advantage-Supplemental-Benefits.html.

REMINDER: When calling or ordering CVS OTC, please include the alpha prefix on the member’s ID (i.e. MQS80XXXXXXX). CVS needs the full ID to find the member.
