MnCHOICES Mentors

All new MnCHOICES Mentors must complete the MnCHOICES New Mentor training module series (MNCH9000) before you work to support your care coordinators in recertification.

Supervisors

  • Complete Overseeing MnCHOICES (MNCH930) in TrainLink.

Care Coordinators

  • Complete online on demand TrainLink course BYS01 Building Your Skills: Developing a Support Plan 01 – MnCHOICES Assessment

Building your skills series will focus on: Developing a support plan and concentrate on topics related to building a foundational knowledge of support planning skills.

  • If you require the password and or test users, please reach out to your Partner Relations Consultant.
  • If a Care Coordinator’s certified assessor certification has lapsed for more than 365 days, they must retake the (Revised) MnCAT steps 1-3.
  • All Care Coordinators must complete the Certified Assessor Training (specific course number will depend on your current certified assessor status and MnCAT step 3 courses DHS has available) MnCAT steps 1, 2 & 3 prior to completing assessments in MnCHOICES.
    • If you previously completed MnCAT steps 1 & 2, you are not required to repeat this training. It is recommended that you complete the revision trainings MNCH100A and MNCH200A.

Important: Recertification records are subject to audit by DHS and must be maintained for as least three years following recertification. 

Smart Guide: The purpose of a Smart Guide is to provide step-by-step instructions on functionality in the system. These documents are available in the MnCHOICES Training Zone (MTZ) Help Center.

TrainLink:  A module entitled “Taking Forms offline module” is available in the MnCHOICES Access and Navigation course (MNCH900)
