Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS)
A service option available to people on a HCBS waiver, like Elderly Waiver, which gives a person flexibility in their service planning. They are responsible for self-directing their services, including the hiring and managing of support workers. CDCS may include traditional services and goods, and self-designed services.

CDCS Trainings
DHS offers a CDCS course for lead agency staff which includes:

- Guidelines about paying spouses
- Involuntary exits from CDCS
The course is available on TrainLink.

Once in TrainLink, follow these steps:
1. Under “Learning Center,” click Disability Services
2. Under Courses and Classes, click “Find a Course”
3. In the “Search by Class Name” field, search for DS400
4. Click “Select” next to DS400 (Consumer Directed Community Supports [CDCS]) – Online/On Demand
5. Click the “Course Content” tab
6. Enter your Unique Key and click “OK”, then view available modules
