Renewing eligibility and reporting changes for MN Health Care Programs/Medicaid:

Individuals who have Medical Assistance must renew their eligibility once a year. This 9- minute training via the DHS website explains the process for renewal. In addition, Care Coordinators assisting enrollees can refer to this FAQ when assisting members or their authorized rep with completing their renewal to avoid any lapse in coverage. DHS Elderly Waiver 101 Training:

 

The Senior LinkAge Line® is a free, statewide service of the Minnesota Board on Aging in partnership with Minnesota’s Area Agencies on Aging.

The Senior LinkAge Line® helps older Minnesotans, caregivers and families find answers and connect to the services and support they need.

Help is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM by calling 1-800-333-2433 or through the Senior LinkAge Line website.

Recently the Senior LinkAge Line® developed video presentations on topics of interest to older Minnesotans, caregivers and families. These videos are in English with ASL interpretation and open captions. They include:

 

Older Adult Mental Health Video Training Series:

Gain a better understanding of older adult mental illness and learn new skills with this free, three-episode video training series. The videos are intended to boost your confidence when caring for older adults and help you learn basic skills you can use to prevent and de-escalate mental health crises.

 

The Aging and Adult Services Division and Minnesota Board on Aging offer several online courses for lead agency (county, tribal, and managed care) staff and for those looking to learn more about how to better serve and support older adults more broadly.

All courses are available on the Older Adult Programs Learning Center located on TrainLink under Older Adult Programs.

  •  Caregiving and Dementia online training

    • Caregiving
    • Dementia and Cultural responsiveness
    • These courses are available on the Older Adult Programs Learning Center located on TrainLink under Older Adult Programs. To view these online courses, search the Course Catalog for “All MN Board on Aging Courses”.
  •  Elderly Waiver (EW): Basic program overview

    • The training covers the policies and procedures for the EW program and is targeted for staff with up to 12 months of program experience. Those with more experience are welcome to view the training, understanding that the information presented is focused on program basics.
    • Elderly Waiver (EW): Basic program overview is available on the Older Adult Programs Learning Center. To view this training, click on “Course Catalog Search.” Search the course catalog for “Elderly Waiver” or “EW” or select category “All” and look for the class title.
  •  MMIS online training

    • The MMIS001: Introduction to MMIS is mandatory and should be completed prior to attempting other courses.
    • Unfamiliar with MMIS? Courses 2 through 5 (MMIS002 – MMIS005) have been designed for you. It is recommended that you view these sessions before viewing any other courses.
